3 Best Blenders: Will Smith likes 'em…

Introduction

The Scott brothers have been in the movie business for a while now. Both of them are directors of which Ridley (the older brother) has consistently put off some neat movies like Blade Runner, Gladiator and Hannibal, which have been considered masterpieces in cinema.

His younger brother, Tony Scott, has been busy too by directing top notch movies such as Top Gun, Crimson Tide, Deja Vu and just a couple of years ago, the movie in which Will Smith really outdid himself known as "Enemy of the State".

There was one aspect of the movie that really made me laugh: his love for the blender and the way he gets it back from the 'baddies'. Of course, most men don't necessarily share a fascination for a blender, but you never know! After all, it wouldn't be so bad to know a little about an appliance that is a must-have in any kitchen.

Blenders

Almost everyone knows what a blender looks like and how it works, and its purposefulness ha made it just as popular as the proverbial seatbelt. So it would be an insult to your intelligence if these points were explained. Ever since it was used to mix drinks (of the non-alcoholic type)  in 1922, the technology around blenders have progressed in leaps and bounds to the point where its areas of application to our lives in this day and age have expanded to accommodate various purposes other than the aforementioned one.

Some of these include:

1) Making cocktails apart from the Frappachinos and smoothies

2) Emulsifying immiscible mixtures mayonnaise and cream soups

3) Making smooth purees

4) Powdering small solids such as spices and seeds

5) Dissolving solids into liquids

6) Blending mixtures of solids and liquids

And it's not hard to see why this can work so well for housewives, chefs and people who work in the fields of food science and microbiology.

Since there are several brands of blenders available in the market, knowing which ones give you value for your money can be a time consuming task, so here are the 4 best blenders available in the market today in no particular order except for their costs.

1) Blendtec Total Blender

With a self-timer that only requires you to turn it on while it turns off on its own after the blending cycle is finished, and the ability to automatically adjust if it needs more power, this is no doubt a popular choice. The blender does not have any knobs or dials and carries a 1500 Watt motor. This blender is costly.

2) Vitamix

Considered the best smoothie-making blender that handles both frozen and whole uncut fruits with ease, which also means that there is no extra work in cutting them up earlier. Experts (not the manufacturers!) say that this blender is the best one if you are interested in taking care of your health (and who isn't?).

3) Magic Bullet

This blender is considered to be a newer blender compared to the others in the market,  and apart from offering all that the other blenders offer, it is easier to clean as well as can be handled easily due to its small size. It isn't priced too high, so that is another advantage as well.

4) Oster Beehive

Another low priced 500 Watt blender that easily blends most non frozen foods. Apart from its tasteful design, it is easy to clean and utilizes 2 knobs for  two speeds. Due to its ability to save time and money, it was considered a popular choice by experts before the Vitamix blenders entered the market.

In Closing

So, whatever your reason to have a blender, these four options should do the trick… and once you taste the delightful smoothies that come along with these machines as recipes, perhaps you'd understand why some people in 'real life' are very possessive about their blenders.

There truly are several good reasons to buy a blender, provided that it is a good one, with quality and durability. I don’t think I will ever get rid of mine, considering how easy cooking has become ever since they first appeared in the market. They are useful when making smoothies, juices and other things. Choosing one is probably the only complicated thing about them.

Apparently, Consumer Reports says the VitaMix blenders are the best. And there’s also an Oster blender that CR recommends.
