1. H2izzO

Maybe your mom was right when she brought you chicken soup in bed when you were a kid. The key is taking in plenty of fluids and rest when your body is down to allow the sickness to leave your body faster. Also drink lots of water to help flush it out of you system. Your body needs this for the extra energy it's burning to fight off the virus. Plus, the chicken soup is good to sooth any symptoms you may be suffering from, like sore throat or stuffy nose!

2. Echina-what?

Echinacea tends to work better for most people as a cold remedy rather than a prevention method. If you take it too much or for too long before your actual cold your body may grow immune to its benefits! Then what's the point you ask? Try a higher dose right when you feel the cold coming on to help your body expel the germs from the cold.

3. Vitamin C ya later

Ascorbic acid also works well as a cold and flu remedy. Its higher concentrated doses while you are sick is one way to rid your body of the virus altogether. Make sure to check the label on these and any supplements to make sure you aren't taking too much, but it's not likely you will overdose on vitamin C anytime soon.

4. Chest rub, hubba hubba

Very true. Flus and colds have no actual chemical remedies unlike minor aches and pains which can be alleviated by medication tramadol and the likes. For me, proper nourishment, Vitamin C, and a day or two of relaxation are my best bets for combating flu and that nasty cold.
