Selfishness is so common these days that people have to record events of kindness (read: Chicken soup for the soul) to remind people of the very quality that truly makes us more than human.
While they also say that to err is human but to forgive, divine, the truth about the giving unselfishly can often be beneficial for the soul. Yes, you feed the soul when you do something good with nothing in return whether it is taking care of the needy or even taking care of a wounded animal. In doing so, maybe we will begin to value our own loved ones and what they mean to us as well.
Speaking of the idea of 'taking care of animals', pets can often be subject to a lot of abuse or conversely, a lot of love and affection. And if we truly love them, then perhaps this is normally reflected in the how we groom and nourish them.
As a rule, most experienced owners believe that you should not feed a dog what you won't eat, and while these perceptions might vary from person to person, the truth is that animal nutrition especially for dogs are in wet, dry or alternative form.
Dog Food – Contents
Also known as kibble, store-based dry dog food is generally considered to be the healthiest for dogs as opposed to canned food due to the fact that it is low in water content. And if that's enough, it is considered to be less expensive that works very well for owners these days.
Most of these foods contain ingredients such as rice, barley, corn, beef, chicken meal and soy and are definitely a choice for your pet dog but what you must stay away from are products that contain offal, meat-and-bone meals, grain by-products and horse meat. The latter is anything but nutritious for your dogs, no matter how you look at it.
The bottom line of all of this is to consult with your vet to see what kind of nutrients your pet needs, and then proceed to purchase recommended items that they provide or look for suitable replacements.
If you already do this, that's good but here is a list of dog foods that can be bought from the store, and is healthy and nutritious enough for your animal.

Probiotics are just as necessary for animals as for humans so it is great to see more and more pet food companies add them to the mix. We had 2 parvo puppies who gained enormously by being given probiotics. After they had recovered from the parvo they were very skinny and had “delicate” tummies. After giving them plenty of yogurt as well as a good quality dog food they put on a ton of weight and bounced back to their former selves.
