Weekly Recap (December 7-14, 2008)

This was definitely a hodgepodge week!

Between my new experimentation with intermittent fasting, organizing my own workout pyramid scheme, and missing speed camp because of a power outage, I didn't know what to expect for my measurements this morning…

And, since I missed speed camp yesterday, I decided to embark on my 2nd 24-hour fast of the week. I'm about 18 hours in right now, and I'm still shocked at how easy it is!

My first one on Monday I thought was just a fluke, but I'm still not hungry at all during this second one and feel fantastic.

So, with all of that craziness going on, I was very pleasantly surprised to see my measurements were great this week!

My overall weight dropped less than 3 pounds, which I'm sure is due almost entirely to the actual weight of the food that wasn't in my stomach, since I was mid-fast.

I'm so sure of this, because nearly every other measurement increased!

That's without touching a single weight this week and fasting, not once, but twice for a total of 48 hours!

It's another one of those crazy anomalies, and I'll be continuing to experiment for the rest of the month, before I go back to a more routine program after the holidays.

I'm still very new to the whole intermittent fasting world, so it's much too soon for me to make any real conclusions, but I've noticed nothing but great things so far.

If you're interested in learning more about IF, the best place to start is with "Eat Stop Eat."

It's a quick read, which I plowed through in about 45 minutes, but it's extremely interesting with several scientific studies to back up some of the unconventional claims.

That about raps it up for this week. See you next Sunday and don't forget you can follow my daily updates over at Geek2Freak.com.
