Exercise TV

Have you heard of the new Exercise TV network? It's on every channel all the time. Well, it is if you heed the excellent advice of Men's Health.

If you haven't heard, the NFL football season starts tonight (NBC at 8PM), and we finally get to see some real football (enough with those teasingly boring pre-season games!). It looks to be a great one between the poise of Peyton Manning and the uncanny athletic ability of Reggie Bush.

Unfortunately, football season is also synonymous with long, sedentary, pizza-eating, beer-drinking sessions on the couch. So, how does this tie in with the aforementioned Exercise TV? Simple: Work out while you watch.

You can actually get in shape this football season by playing mini-games with yourself as you watch your favorite teams. Choose from some of the suggestions below, or make up your own to challenge yourself and your friends.

Exercise TV

  • Do 10 push-ups every time any team scores a touchdown
  • Do 10 sit-ups every time any team kicks a field goal
  • If there's an interception, you can't eat pizza or drink a beer until the other team gets the ball back
  • During halftime, perform a 15 minute HIIT session, and you can feel a lot better about those second-half calories you're inhaling

Come up with some fun rules of your own, and challenge your buddies to join in. The testosterone-fueled environment of Football Night will be perfect for some competitive Exercise TV.
