"A little knowledge is dangerous. So is a lot."
- Albert Einstein

My equally brilliant interpretation and application to the FitBuff world: Knowledge is power, and it's absolutely essential to achieving the body and health you want, but don't get so caught up in macronutrients or the "perfect" set/rep schemes that you never actually begin your diet or exercise routine. With all of the media hype and nightmare meat recalls or "(insert food of the week) will kill you!" stories, it's easy to overanalyze things or just give up before you get started. Forget all the statistics and minutia, and just dive into your program. Once you get started and on the right path, then you can start making all the little adjustments and obsessing way too much over the exact amount of polyunsaturated fats you should consume each day.

"On a long enough timeline. The survival rate for everyone drops to zero."
- Chuck Palahniuk

My equally brilliant interpretation and application to the FitBuff world: It sounds cliche: "You only live once," "Seize the moment," and "Live for today." But, it's true. Stop putting things off and waiting for the perfect time when things will be a little bit easier or a little more convenient. That time is never going to come. In the great words of everyone's favorite Nike ad campaign: Just DO It!

"Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement."
- CS Lewis

My equally brilliant interpretation and application to the FitBuff world: We're all going to have small setbacks along the way. Maybe you couldn't resist that pizza that your buddies ordered on game night, or you just couldn't "find time" to get to the gym for your scheduled workout session. It happens, nobody's perfect, but don't let these small setbacks gain momentum and turn into wrecking ball-sized failures that completely derail your goals and force you to give up. If you cheat on a meal or skip a workout session, just work that much harder to get back on track.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
- Edmund Burke

My equally brilliant interpretation and application to the FitBuff world: Even if you don't weigh 400 pounds or swallow entire chickens and wash it down with a keg, that doesn't mean you don't have to eat well or workout. Proper nutrition and exercise go far beyond just helping you look good; they give your body the tools it needs to keep you running in top condition. Don't get trapped in a "just getting by" attitude, get out there and take total control of your body and health!

"Disconnecting from change does not recapture the past. It loses the future."
- Kathleen Norris

My equally brilliant interpretation and application to the FitBuff world: This reiterates the idea that if you keep doing the things you've always done, then you'll keep getting the same results you've always gotten. Don't be satisfied that you stuck to your guidelines and made it through the same workout as last week or stuck to your diet just as well as yesterday. Although better than the alternative, it is possible to get stuck in a healthy rut. Continue pushing the envelope and setting new personal records every day, whether it's one more rep or one less cheat meal.
