I am really happy I've found HIIT. Only thing that wonders me is that is it really enough? I mean in past three years I've lost about 30 kgs, workout is now part of me and my normal life. Workout has taken somewhat at least 8 hrs per week of my time. Every other day cardio, every other day weights. Sessions have been really long. Can I actually replace ALL cardio now with HIIT? I would save a lot of time then.
HIIT is really new to me. I've done it now for couple of weeks and my goal is to lose last kgs. For first time in months my weight is going down. It's propably not true but it feels like my jeans are bigger than couple of weeks ago:)

Workout alone is not enough for building muscle, I would suggest you combine a diet which can help you to achieve your goals faster. I have tried the Zone and it work pretty well for me. In just 4 weeks time I manage to increase my performance by 20-30%. For an athlete like me it is a blessing.

There is no one single fat burning workout that can be done occasionally to take off the pounds. You must combine a workout program with a properly balanced meal plan to be successful. This means creating a calorie deficit in order to burn off excess body fat -- which means doing more exercise and eating less. Since a pound of fat is equal to 3,500 calories worth of “fuel” to the body, you must burn 3,500 more calories in one week than you take in, in order to burn off just one pound.

I've started doing interval training mixed into my normal workouts. This sounds like a perfect alternative for mixing it up even more. Some days normal interval runs and some days of even higher intensity/shorter intervals. It's good to have various options. I have to admit that I get bored easily. Thanks for the info.

I guess it's time to start producing catecholamine; ;)

Ronald, it really is effect.

Genessa, you can always find time. Seems that you have 5 hours between finishing work and going to sleep. That is about normal. HIIT should take you no more than 30 minutes total. Do a 20 minute workout, cool down, shower. Job done.

I work at night 10pm til 7am. I wake up around 8:20pm to start getting ready for work. I fall asleep around noon or 1pm. So how can I fit HIIT into my daily schedule. This could really help.

HIIT really is great. Research has shown that it is both the best way to get fit and burns fat most effectively. Plus it is far more interesting than jogging. I do HIIT on my cross trainer and generally do about 45 seconds of high intensity followed by 90 seconds recovery. Not full HIIT, but I do make those last 10 seconds really count, especially on the last hills.

I normally d0 a steady full pace on the stair master. I can go an entire hour level 10-12 out of 20, with a 5min warm up and 10min cool down 1:15 total time (I sometimes go to 1:20 if I have the time & energy) I am by no means fit. I'm 5'4 @ 185 and cannot drop any weight for the life of me. I down to eating 1 meal day, healthy snacking in between. (I tried the five meal thing along with cardio/weight training for months, but I just cant' get past 185! I'm going to log my results and was hoping for some advise on a 30/60 on the stairs? Is that good for a beginner?

I am pleased to see this webpage and the magnificent tips and style of intensified cardio training. It sounds extremely effective, i dont know why i haven't thought of trying this before.

Thanks for all the great information, i been trying to battle off a little extra fat ever since my metabolism dropped at age 16 and i am currently 20 years old.

I was up to 205 lbs at my peak been bouncing back and forth, currently at a stable weight of 173 lbs trying to get my old chiseled face back and get back down to 145 lbs.

Im not a big guy so 145 lbs is completely a great managable goal for me.

Appreciate this post and will try this tonight thanks alot :D
