Lead Poisoning Symptoms

With all this talk recently of lead in this and lead in that, you should probably learn some lead poisoning symptoms, so you can spot any negative effects as early as possible.

First came the toy extrava-lead-za from China. Then, just last week, a study found traces of lead in half of the most popular brands of lipstick (even if you don't wear it, you could be kissing someone who does). Then, not to be outdone, water decided to join the show, when unsafe levels of lead were found in the water of 5 different Canadian schools.

Bottled water may not seem like such a bad idea now, huh? It may be taken from the same place, but at least it goes through enough filters to get rid of lead!

So, with all of these potential sources, and possibly more on the way, here are some common signs that you may be suffering from lead poisoning.

Lead Poisoning Symptoms

Of course, many of these symptoms could be indicative of a number of health problems, but regardless of the source, you should always find out why you are experiencing them. Don't hesitate to see your doctor if you have a number of these symptoms and think you may have been exposed to unsafe levels of lead.

Whether you suffer from lead poisoning symptoms or not, you should be giving your body a fighting chance against any disease through a healthy diet and exercise.

Those who are unsure if they have metal poisoning can check online for health info including various medical symptoms listings. If uncertain though the advice of a medical doctor cannot be beat by health information you find online.

Great idea, I didn't know the symptoms either.

I never even thought of it before even after all the recent news but this was interesting to actually see what lead poisoning does.

Too bad none of these are very specific. Like you said many of these symptoms could be a sign of anything and a lot of people would probably just write them off.

This is the first time I've seen them too. Guess I never really thought about it.

I had actually looked this up just last week out of curiosity.

I heard there was just another major recall again today with children's plastic jewelry from a chain of Dollar Stores.

Are there any brands of exercise equipment that may use lead? Might we be pumping lead instead of pumping iron?

Excellent question, Brian. I wouldn't think so, but it may be a good reason to stick to newer, name-brand weights just to be safe.
