Weekly Recap (April 13-20, 2008)
I was surprised to find that my measurements were almost identical to last week. I expected with so much carbo-loading on workout days this week that I would have put on some extra fat and had to actually scale back the carbs.
But, apparently, on workout days my body can really stomach those carbs!
Overall, it was definitely a net positive, because while my measurements barely moved, my strength increased significantly on several exercises this week.
I still may try a little tweaking this week to see what effect it has on size and strength. I think I'm going to continue to carbo-load on workout days (monday, wednesday, friday), but only up until 5PM. That should still feed my muscles when they need it, but in a more condensed time slot, so the later carbs in the day aren't just sitting around and being stored as fat.
Plus, I'm going to add a few more calories (carbs or otherwise) on Saturday, because those Bikram yoga classes really kick my butt! And with them being over an hour and a half long of intense exercise, not to mention my high metabolism on top of that, I'm sure I'm losing some massive calories at each class.
But, I really love the classes and they feel great when it's over (not so much during!), so upping the calories on Saturday should offset the loss.
That about raps it up for this week. See you next Sunday and don't forget you can follow my daily updates over at the forums in this thread: Personal Daily Workout Log.
