Weekly Recap (August 24-31, 2008)
Results weren't great this week, but I'm confident I know what the culprit was and how to fix it.
I increased my carbs last week, thinking I needed it to fuel the extra cardio work, but clearly, they weren't burned up as I thought they would be.
I weighed myself an hour earlier, which accounts for the drop in overall weight (you get heavier throughout the day, which is why it's so important to measure yourself at the same time of day each time), but my waist and body fat measurements still went up.
So, my theory is that the extra carbs contributed to extra fat storage and not to helping build muscle as planned.
I'll simply cut out about 50g of carbs per day this week, and I'm confident my numbers will head back in the right direction.
As for the workouts this week, they were all fantastic!
I love "Maximum Strength" more and more with each workout, and I blasted through both cardio sessions without an ounce of discomfort or pain before, during, or after!
Tomorrow begins the "Very High Intensity" portion of "Maximum Strength," and I'm ready for it!
This Wednesday also marks my last plyometrics/sprinting speed camp session, where I'll be timed on my 6-week progress on the 40-yard dash, hoping to squeak into the respectable land of 4.anything.
I'm off to Virginia Beach for the day, and I'll be checking out "The Dark Knight" in IMAX while I'm there, but I'll be ready to hit the gym again first thing tomorrow!
That about raps it up for this week. See you next Sunday and don't forget you can follow my daily updates over at Geek2Freak.com.
