Weekly Recap (June 1-8, 2008)
After last week's excellent results, I got a little too cocky and had a nutritional breakdown from Monday to Tuesday.
I had gone over 2 weeks with all clean eating, but I gorged on nearly every craving for those two days.
Once I realized how bad I felt (specifically in "the office"), I quickly came to my senses and have been back on track since.
My work later in the week helped to minimize the damage and my measurements weren't too bad, but it's definitely disappointing to have nowhere near the same awesome results as last week.
Luckily, my sub-par performance will help motivate me to stay clean and resume what I had started a couple of weeks ago.
Also, now that I'm fully recovered from jaw surgery all those months ago, I'm going to be trying out a new workout program from Eric Cressey's book, "Maximum Strength."
I'm at or near all my pre-surgery highs, and this book specifically targets getting stronger, rather than just bigger, as most books do.
Of course, getting stronger also leads to getting bigger, and I'd love to set some new personal bests along the way.
I'm going to stick to my current routine for the next couple of weeks, because I'll be going out of town around the middle of this month for a few days, so I plan on starting "Maximum Strength" when I get back.
I've already started implementing the extensive warm-up routine from the book that involves some foam rolling, soft tissue work, and dynamic stretching which makes my body feel fantastic.
Those routines will only grow more and more effective as I continue to use them, so things are looking good!
That about raps it up for this week. See you next Sunday and don't forget you can follow my daily updates over at the forums in this thread: Personal Daily Workout Log.

Wow I envy you. It's too bad I can't afford those supplements. I guess I would really have to go through the gauntlet.
Thanks, and while some supplements can certainly help in certain situations, you can still make some dramatic changes with exercise and nutrition alone, provided you stick with whole, natural foods.
