Weekly Recap (May 11-18, 2008)

After Monday's lackluster performance, I ramped it up for the rest of the week.

I even added in a core day on Saturday, in addition to Saturday's HIIT.

With summer just around the corner, it's time to go balls-to-the-wall, so each week will consist of 3 weighlifting sessions, 3 HIIIT sessions, and 1 core day (combined with HIIT every Saturday).

Of course, my core is being worked nearly every day, but I wanted to add specific work for one day a week too.

In fact, I was surprised to see how well my core strength and held up. After not doing any specific ab work in months, I was still able to bang out 13 hanging leg raises, in addition to several other exercises, and top it all off with a great HIIT workout.

The only downside to the week was gorging on a pizza and ice cream yesterday. That inflated my numbers a bit today, but as I mentioned yesterday in the daily log, that was my "going away" party meal.

Before my surgery in October of last year, I ate all clean all the time, with literally no cheats anytime. It sounds impossible, but I had settled into it and never even craved anything outside of my healthy diet.

Since the surgery though, I've been more lax, especially in the beginning since I was desperate to gain back some of the weight I lost post-surgery. That habit has been a little harder to break this time around, but I've been spreading the cheat meals out more and more ever since.

Yesterday's ice cream and pizza was my farewell to cheat meals, and I'm ready to go back to my insanely strict diet, now that I'm fully healed and feeling even better than before surgery, no more excuses!

I expect increasingly impressive results for weeks to come, so stay tuned to watch it come true!

That about raps it up for this week. See you next Sunday and don't forget you can follow my daily updates over at the forums in this thread: Personal Daily Workout Log.
