Those were simpler times. When your grandmother had simple home remedies using items in the kitchen to take care of any aches and pains that their children or even grandchildren had.

Of course, that was until insurance and synthetic pills came about, and people used to make an appointment for every little thing that hurt or troubled them.

But there's comes a time when everything reaches full circle, and ever since the 2008 financial collapse, people are going back to simpler times when they resort to home remedies instead of making that expensive appointment that will eat into your finances.

One of the toughest types of pains to deal with, apart from stomach pains and head ache, is a toothache or soreness that is commonly experienced from time to time.

Toothache – Is it hell or what?

This is the only kind of pain that I just cannot bear (and I'm not alone in this!) but between the time when the pain hits you all the way to the dentists' office, it feels like hell, doesn't it?

You can use a million adjectives to describe the pain but the truth is that it is excruciating, and what might seem like a few hours to some folks (without the pain) might seem like a million years to others.

This is where you can use several home remedies to help you curb the pain to a large extent so that you won't have to suffer until you get to the dentist's.

Home Toothache Remedies

Before we begin listing the ingredients for these common home remedies, you have to remember that most of these items discussed below are commonly found in your pantry, and at the most, at the nearest supermarket.

To put it simply, these are veggies that when used as described below will ease the pain considerably:

Remedy #1: Onion

While this veggie can prevent a host of tooth disorders if you consume one whole onion daily, all you have to do when it comes to relieving yourself of the pain that comes with a toothache is to place a piece of onion on the affected tooth or gum, and you should find instant relief.

Remedy #2: Garlic

Another veggie that can eliminate all kinds of problems with your teeth is garlic, and just by chewing one clove of garlic will you find that your teeth will remain healthy and strong as ever.

Just like the first home remedy, all you have to do is place a clove of garlic along with rock salt on the affected area, and you should feel the pain recede.

Remedy #3: Lime

This is yet another veggie that can work wonders for your teeth, and similar to the other two remedies can help to keep your teeth healthy and strong. Of course, for those who already have issues with swollen gums, one must mix lime with water and rock salt and apply it on the affected area for quick results.

And here is a link to other home remedies that you can use for toothache…

In Closing

Going back to basics naturally, has always been the way to go… and using home remedies to take care of your teeth among other parts of body is not only an excellent idea but also helps you save costs when it comes to the dentist.

I didn’t know that you can use these three for alleviating tooth problems. If I knew back then, it would have saved me hours of pain. Onion and garlic are easy to find in our house, however we don’t really have lime here, can I substitute lemon for it?
