Fitness isn’t something one simply walks into the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC or Gold’s Gym and buys to make their life better. Fitness is a life-long endeavor to maintain the best possible version of one’s physical, mental, and emotional state. Waking up an hour earlier than work requires and spending the time working out and eating a healthy breakfast is a simple action that can help build fitness—but how?
What is FitBuff?
Fitness, in a large sense, is the opposite of the human tendency to take the easy way out. FitBuff has been dedicated to providing articles and motivational resources to help power through the human tendency to take the past of least resistance and support personal journies of self-improvement. If you are a contributor, writer, fitness freak, or otherwise have a perspective that you feel should be shared—please consider reaching out to us to help share your story with the FitBuff community.
The guiding principles of our focus on personal development, fitness, health, and longevity are centered about a concept we refer to as Triple Perspective. This concept is something we’ve completely made up—don’t expect to find it on Wikipedia—but we feel it does well to serve as a framework for more effective personal growth. The basic principle of this concept is that our life experiences are composites of three different perspectives—mental, physical, and emotional. For every experience we have, there is an emotional, physical, and mental component to it. Regarding one’s trials and struggles through this perspective can help better understand which areas need the most focus to help cultivate holistic improvement. For example, you may have a mental block about moving to a certain weight on bench press that’s actually your biggest barrier—not the addition of 5 more pounds.
Everyone has their own struggles and the human experience is, as a collective, a testament to the power of our individual spirit. Powering through the tough times, finding a way to survive, applying our cognitive prowess to evolve in the face of fierce predators—these are the traits of the human spirit inherent to us all. Our articles and health resources are meant to help provide the information you need to harness the power of this inherent evolutionary force pulsing through every cell in your body. Our goal is to help every reader discover that limitations are a function of imagination and will and rekindling the cadence with evolutionary instinct can overcome even the most trying of obstacles.
